Miguel Cervantes III, MD, FASA Appointed Anesthesia Medical Director at Washington Practice
Premier Anesthesia is excited to announce Miguel Cervantes III, MD, FASA, as our anesthesia medical director at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Wash. As our anesthesia medical director, Dr. Cervantes will lead the practice in quality initiatives, strategic growth and performance improvement.
Dr. Cervantes has been a member of the Premier Anesthesia team since 2005. He joined the anesthesia medical staff at Kadlec in 2013 and was named assistant medical director in 2019. He has also worked to develop colorectal enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols that have been adopted by anesthesia practices across the country.
He is board certified in anesthesiology by the American Society of Anesthesiology and completed his residency in anesthesia at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center where he served as chief resident and was named Senior Resident of the Year. He was awarded “Outstanding Faculty of the Year” for two years.
During his time at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, he has been instrumental in implementing quality measures that have brought improvements in patient safety and satisfaction. He serves on several Kadlec and Providence Health System committees that include, the Kadlec Medical Executive Committee, Kadlec OR Utilization Committee, Kadlec Ambulatory Surgery Center Board, Providence Epic clinician optimization resource team and the Providence Ambulatory Care Improvement Committee.

Recently, Dr. Cervantes was named a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (FASA). The prestigious designation is the highest recognition awarded by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). Some of the requirements for FASA designation are active involvement in teaching and mentoring, hospital and community leadership, participation in ASA advocacy efforts, research and board certification.
