Preston’s Message January 2023

January 31, 2023

Fulfilling our mission and making an impact

At Premier Anesthesia, our mission is to improve the delivery of healthcare and the lives of everyone we touch. Last year, our clinical providers partnered with us to move that needle, providing compassionate and quality care to patients and their families across the country. In 2022, over 1,000 anesthesiologists, CRNAs, AAs, and nurses worked on Premier Anesthesia clinical teams throughout the country in roles spanning every category – full-time, part-time, PRN, locum tenens, in both W2 (employed) models and 1099 independent contractor engagements. These heroes provide 24/7 care, from the east coast to the west in the U.S., with some of the best anesthesia practices in the country.

As I visit our clinical teams on the front lines of healthcare, I am heartened to see so many examples of clinicians who love what they do and feel called to our mission of sacrifice and selfless service. Whether delivering care to patients experiencing trauma or labor to life-saving cancer surgeries, our providers meet patients and families at their point of need and make healthcare accessible to thousands upon thousands of our friends, neighbors, and loved ones. Frequently, I am told by one of our clinical providers that they drive past hospitals with other anesthesia practices because they like the autonomy and culture of the Premier Anesthesia teams.

We are relentlessly committed to providing our partners and patients with quality outcomes with a genuine focus on service to our hospitals, surgeons, OR/nursing staff, and patients. We can keep this as our principal focus by remaining privately owned as part of the Jackson Healthcare network, allowing us to deliver the solutions many of our partners need. Because we are one of the only large anesthesia practices without any private equity investment or public shareholder focus, we can truly align the needs of each individual hospital and anesthesia practice. No short-term investor needs. No large bureaucracy. One team with a focus on a customized and tailored solution.

In 2023, we are laser-focused on fulfilling our mission with our clinical teams and will remain dedicated to our shared values of Wisdom, Growth, and placing “Others First.” These anchor our purpose and guide our strategy, hiring practices, and philanthropic efforts. Maintaining these fundamental values and focusing on our mission is central to our culture and is the “secret sauce” at the core of everything we do. Our firm belief is that this will continue to be the pulsing heartbeat of Premier Anesthesia and will be a differentiator leading to success in 2023 and the years to come.
